Mill Village Propel Program Overview
The Mill Village Propel Program is a 16-week college and career readiness program designed to prepare high school students for success in education, employment, and life. The program is divided into eight weeks in the fall and eight weeks in the spring.
The Fall Session runs September 14–November 3 and focuses on college and career readiness development. Students build essential workplace, leadership, financial literacy, communication, and life skills while exploring postsecondary education and career pathways.
The Spring Session runs February 9–April 7 and provides students with hands-on job training through Mill Village Farms or the Village Wrench Bike Shop, allowing them to apply the skills they developed during the fall in a real-world work environment.
Students meet Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Mill Village. Transportation is provided for students attending schools within a designated mile radius of Mill Village, and parents or guardians are responsible for picking students up at 6:00 p.m. Each program day includes a meal, and students participate in paid training, earning a stipend while gaining valuable workforce experience.

6 Cycle Summer Workforce Training
Students who successfully complete both the Fall Propel CCR Session and the Spring Hands-On Workforce Training Session Village Wrench or Village Farms ill be eligible to apply for 6 Cycle Summer Apprenticeship. This is an opportunity to earn their first summer job while continuing to build valuable career skills.
The 6 Cycle or Spoon & Sprouts Summer Workforce Training program places students in paid work experiences through Village Wrench Bike Shop or Mill Village Farms. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, students gain practical, hands-on training while developing professional work habits, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills.
Throughout the summer, students are expected to demonstrate responsibility, initiative, and a strong work ethic while applying the skills they developed during the Propel program. This experience serves as a bridge between workforce training and future employment, helping students build confidence, strengthen their résumés, and prepare for long-term career success.
Completion of the full Propel program does not guarantee employment; however, it qualifies students to apply for their first paid summer job through the 6 Cycle Summer Workforce Training program. Students are selected based on attendance, participation, professionalism, and overall readiness for the workplace.
