Makarius D. Epps is a dedicated Program Manager at Village Launch, where he leads entrepreneur support, market development, and community‑centered initiatives designed to strengthen small businesses across the Upstate. A native of South Carolina, Makarius brings a unique blend of academic training, athletic discipline, and passion for service into every aspect of his work.
Makarius began his journey with Village Launch as a Marketing and Administrative Intern, where he quickly demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and community engagement skills. His commitment to uplifting entrepreneurs and his ability to connect with aspiring business owners paved the way for his transition into a full‑time leadership role. Today, he takes the lead in managing Village Launch Markets, cultivating vendor relationships, and supporting the overall growth and sustainability of local small businesses.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina Upstate, with focused areas in Business, Finance, and a cognate in Communication. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Informatics at the University of South Carolina Upstate, expanding his expertise in data, technology, and systems that support organizational efficiency and community impact.
In addition to his professional and academic pursuits, Makarius is an independent javelin athlete, bringing the same discipline, resilience, and focus from athletics into his work with entrepreneurs and community partners.
