Matt Rollins | Director of Faith-Based Initiatives, Village Engage
Matt is the Minister of Community Engagement at First Baptist Greenville, where he has served in various capacities since 2003. A Greenville native, Matt is passionate about advocating for underserved communities and empowering people to live out their faith through service and connection. He holds degrees in Physics (Furman '97), Mechanical Engineering (Clemson '01), a Master of Divinity ('11), and a Doctor of Ministry ('19), both from Gardner-Webb—all of which come together in his unique approach to community engagement, combining the critical thinking of a scientist, the systems mindset of an engineer, and the heart of a pastor.
Matt has been married to his high school sweetheart, Rolyn, since 1997, and they have three children. He enjoys basketball, reading, and crossword puzzles—hobbies that have remained constants since high school—but his greatest joys come from serving God, supporting the Greenville community, and spending time with his family.
